In South Africa, exhibition opens featuring 3D-printed chocolate sculptures

Nestlé is behind the world's first museum-quality exhibition for 3D-printed chocolate, at the Museum of African Design in Johannesburg. The show features works by 10 local artists that are printed entirely from chocolate. The all-digital process used free online modeling tools and a printer that normally prints using plastic filament. Will 3D printing chocolate become a trend? We have already seen artists doing this in several parts of the world and believe that the technique will become so pervasive that we can expect many local chocolate shops and patisseries to have the printers on hand soon to personalize their products for customers. What other foods will regularly be 3D printed and part of the mainstream?
