Many people, especially younger people, are educating themselves about the companies and brands they give their money to. Tech helping them include browser extensions like Progressive Shopper. Once the free Google Chrome extension is installed, shoppers can quickly see if the brand they are purchasing from aligns with their values by color code and other details such as overall contributions, PAC contributions, and employee contributions by party. The app also goes as far as listing serious issues brands participate in such as “pinkwashing LGBTQIA+ rights” and “enabling deforestation.”
