Home meat lockers are the next wine cellars

With the dry-aging steak trend on the rise, perhaps it's not surprising that this year's "must-have" home kitchen accessory is not a wine cooler, but a home meat locker. Coupled with the foodie trend in which home chefs are getting far more serious about what they cook, we're seeing more and more interior architects designing meat storage lockers so that cuts can be kept and aged at home under optimal conditions. Typical of the home dry-aging fridges is a brand called Steaklocker, which uses fan-forced air and a bevy of sensors to keep meat within safe temperatures. And, this being the 21st-century, it also alerts you via mobile phone app if there's ever a problem.
