San Francisco is creating a social network for use in emergencies

SF72, named for the first critical 72 hours of an emergency situation, is being designed to connect people if disaster strikes. Citizens will be able to contact each other, find the latest updated information via geo-located tweets, check for missing persons, and see where help is needed most.
