Former McDonald’s president sees the future and opens a sustainable, health-oriented restaurant chain

Cynics may say that Mike Roberts is making amends for his time as president and COO of McDonald's. But to us, it's clear that Mr. Roberts has seen the trend, and he is following it with his vision of the next generation restaurant chain. That vision is called Lyfe Kitchen, a healthful-food restaurant that cares about environmental stewardship. Their values? "Great food can do amazing things. It can make you feel better. It can support local farms. Promote sustainability. Reward environmentally sound businesses. Give back to the community. And, best of all, it will make you savor every single bite." There are currently two locations, both in California, and two more are opening in that state soon. And as if to point out their global aspirations, Lyfe Kitchen's fifth location is slated to open soon in Illinois, the global home of the McDonald's Corporation. Even the former head of the world's most successful fast-food restaurant has seen the future of food, and he is leading the trend.
